Additionally, those that are part of a DB2/CICS learned why it is doubly important that they audit load module information. For starters DB2 and CICS is tied at the hip by COBOL. And, most importantly CICS TS V3.1 requires COBOL LE - period.

DB2 V9 - The Next Generation

DB2 Version 8 is virtually a new product but you haven’t seen anything yet. Les King pulled back the curtain on DB2 Version 9 providing a glimpse into why it will be the most significant new version ever.
Why does Less fell this way? Version 9, previously code named “Viper”:

How to Get the Best DB2 Performance Information

Thomas Kalb - one of the founders of itgain an international DB2 software and consulting company - posed the question: “Can db2pd replace snapshot monitoring?”.
The answer; with the introduction of DB2 V8.2 (Stinger) there are new performance informants. This means the DBAs can extract excellent performance data without consuming incremental DB2 engine resources via the db2pd command.
