DB2 and SOA - No Problem

Pundits would let you believe that SOA is nothing short of a revolution and you will have to acquire the whole new skill set and computing infrastructure. Leon Katsnelson showed why this latest IT buzzword is in deed a revolution but one for which DB2 is already architected for.
His presentation - the same one given at this past October’s IDIG - showed how you can get started with SOA with the DB2 infrastructure and skills you already have today. If you were in attendance you learned how to expose information as a service to SOA applications and integrate data delivered by web services in to DB2.
Some of his conclusions are:
- SOA is not as scary or new; it’s just a set of standard-based architecture patterns for building distributed systems.
- DB2 is already SOA-enabled
- existing investments in stored procedures and functions are going to pay off in new ways
